Megalomaniac
"Hey megalomaniac
You're not Jesus
Yeah, you're no ******* Elvis
Special, as you know yourself, maniac
Step down
Step down
Yeah
You're no Jesus
You're not Elvis
You're no answer "
First the song. It is my understanding that this song was aimed at George W. Bush. I could be wrong. But, I have heard people dedicate it to him. Anyway, it's a great song plus it has some meaning behind it. Now for those who get a little uptight about politics, I would stop reading now.....
So last night The Messiah...I mean Obama graced us with his presence on TV. If you know me, I a not a fan. I believe, as my father in law would say " If you promise something, and go back on it. You are a liar!". Transparency, change, hope....etc. it really to me seems like the same old B.S. Americans send a message we don't want national health care 54% oppose health care. But push it through anyway. I could go on more about it, but I think this is a good example. Don't get me wrong I want reform. But socialism is not the answer. As many of you may know there is going to be a rally in DC on Sept. 12th. Where many tea party groups like the one I belong to ( Hampton Roads Tea Party Manifesto just to give you an idea on what we believe) are going to assemble and let the crooks in Washington know we want the constitution to be followed. And, we are gonna get rid of politicians Democrat or Republican who do not adhere to the it! Anyway, I know this is mostly about music but I had to get this off my chest!

When I turned 18 and could go to clubs, I went to this Abyss in Va Beach. It was a very dark club. Three levels, two cages, and an outside projector showing trippy movies all night. It pretty much was what I compared all clubs to as I got older. I used to go early so I didn't have to pay a cover charge...how lame. I used to go in at 9 and be the only person on the dance floor. It was good times. Met alot of cool people there. Danced my ass off every weekend. So on to this song. Busy Child by The Crystal Method. Great dance song, it really personifies all that was going on in my life in the late 90's. In the Marines just trying to have a good time. I was definitely always busy..... Dancing, drinking, others things I probably should not mention. You must remember I am now married with children so some things are better off not being said. Good times though........ Fred Graves remembers my Afro, yes I would wear a fake Afro to The Abyss. WTF was wrong with me? LOL all I know is I had fun, and between the ages of 18-23 isn't that what life is really about? There are alot of other songs I could have picked. But, I was thinking of one that most people could relate to. One that could get you feeling a little nostalgic. After listening and reading this let me know what you think...........

SO.............
Well here goes nothing....... I love music. It is my life, aside from my family of course. This being my first post I am not going to go into to much detail about anything yet. Except just to introduce myself to those who do not know me. I am married with two children.
I have grown up listening to all kinds of music. From The Culture Club( I will tell a story about that one day) to NIN, Garth Brooks,The Violent Femmes, 311, Snoop Dog, Heavy D and The Boyz, Lords Of Acid, Ted Nugent, AC/DC, and so on and so forth! My friends suggested I start this blog.....well at least what I should blog about. So I will take their advice. This will not be strictly a music blog. More of a life stories and lessons that include music. I also am very much into sports. I am a huge Redskins and Tennessee Vols fan! So during football season you will get that too. I just hope that I can entertain you. And, maybe just maybe keep your interest long enough so you may appreciate music to the degree in which I do. Oh, almost forgot I am not the best in grammar, run on sentences, etc. So bear with me!
